BODIES IN MOTION TO OPEN NEW PREMIUM FITNESS CLUBS AT IRVINE SPECTRUM CENTER, HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND, AND WEST L.A. MEDIA CENTER
Los Angeles, CA,September 15, 2003 - Renowned L.A. based fitness club chain Bodies in Motion, recognized nation-wide for their premier instructional programming including the Executive Boxing™ and Executive Kickboxing™ programs, will open new fitness super-centers and spas in West Los Angeles, Hollywood and Irvine in 2004. The announcement was made today by Bodies in Motion founder and President, Bruce Gordon.
The new clubs, opening in Hollywood near Hollywood and Highland, Irvine Spectrum Center, and West Los Angeles Media Center will feature a boxing ring, private yoga and pilates rooms, elegant locker rooms with private dressing areas, a motorized rock climbing wall, stretching room, saunas, and kids club. They will also offer massage and day spa facilities, a state-of-the-art boxing and kickboxing room, RoadRacing (indoor cycling) room, dance studio, juice bar, cardio equipment and strength training areas. Added amenities for the convenience of the members will include laundry and dry cleaning, tanning, valet parking, and even prime-time entertainment. The lobby of the clubs will feature giant shark tanks to amuse guests as they prepare for their workouts.
"I believe in today's fast-paced world, there is a need for a fitness environment where people can not only improve their physical condition, but care for their mind and emotional well-being at the same time," Gordon comments. "The upcoming Bodies in Motion facilities will be more than fitness clubs, they will be a haven for people to go where they can get away from the stress and pressure of everyday city life, and just feel part of our supportive and friendly atmosphere while a variety of aspects of the member's health can be nurtured."
The concept of Bodies in Motion began in 1990, when Gordon created a new application of the traditionally bruising and physical workout elements of martial arts and professional boxing. Developing an instructional fitness routine for the masses that appreciated and adapted the incredible fitness benefits of these competitive sports was a first for the fitness industry.
Instructional classes at Bodies in Motion grew and continue to grow for one reason – an outstanding group of selectively recruited instructors. The featured instructors not only have the credentials necessary to teach innovative programming, but also understand the need to motivate and be part of their students' pursuit of fitness.
Today, Bodies in Motion continues to offer the most innovative fitness programming around. In addition to its Executive Boxing™ and Executive Kickboxing™, the company has launched unique fitness programs such as Cardio Swing, Jock Ballet and Candlelit Power Stretch. The clubs, located throughout Los Angeles County, also offer world-class personal training and private instruction, as well as top-quality cardio and weight training equipment. Many Bodies in Motion members continue to be motivated by the fitness center's famous motto, "You can rest when you're dead," which remains a theme throughout the club's activities.
The West Los Angeles location is scheduled to open in January at 12100 Olympic Blvd., with the other locations following shortly after. Membership information for the existing and the new Bodies in Motion clubs is available at www.bodiesinmotion.com.
